Philanthropy

In recent years more and more attention has been devoted to good causes, in the context of estate planning too. The term “good cause” is too restricted, however. We prefer to speak of philanthropy. Not only are private individuals and families active in this, more and more companies are participating in philanthropic activities as well. People can engage in philanthropy in various ways: offering help as a volunteer, providing expertise or offering financial support, for example via a dual bequest. In addition to the standard good causes (non-profit organisations and foundations), this often involves specific objectives and strategic action plans, such as searching for a customised solution for the care of a special-needs child or the protection of an art collection.
